Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using DOIN' ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. Account responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. One account per person. You must be at least 18 years old to use the app.

3. Challenges & stakes

Challenge stakes are social only. No real money changes hands within the app. Stakes are plain text descriptions agreed between participants (e.g. "loser buys dinner"). DOIN' does not facilitate, enforce, or mediate any real-world stakes between users.

3a. Prizes

Some challenges are run by organisations that may offer prizes. The organiser sets the prize terms and the draw procedure, and the organiser, not DOIN', is responsible for awarding and delivering the prize. To be eligible for a prize you must have completed the challenge and have consented to your photos being made public outside the app. Declining that consent does not affect your participation in the challenge.

4. Photo proof

All proof photos are timestamped server-side. The server timestamp is authoritative and cannot be manipulated by the client. By uploading a photo, you confirm it is your own original content and does not violate any third party's rights.

You remain the author of your photo. To provide the service, you give DOIN' a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store your photo and show it to the participants of the challenge, to the challenge organiser and in the app; this licence lasts while the photo is stored in the app. If you have agreed to your photo being made public outside the app, you give the organiser and DOIN' a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use that photo, including in advertising, on social media and on websites; this licence lasts without time limit until you withdraw your consent. After you withdraw consent we will stop further use, but we may not be able to recall materials that have already been published.

5. Permanent record

Challenge results are recorded on your profile as a core feature of the app. You can change who sees your profile in the settings, but results cannot be removed from the record while your account exists. If you delete your account, your identity is anonymised and the challenge records remain for the other participants' history.

6. Prohibited content

You must not upload, share, or use the platform to facilitate content or activities that are:

• Illegal or that encourage illegal acts.
• Physically dangerous — challenges must not instruct participants to perform activities that carry a foreseeable risk of serious injury or death (e.g. extreme breath-holding, dangerous stunts, consuming harmful substances, self-harm, or activities requiring professional training or supervision).
• Harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing toward any person.
• Sexually explicit, pornographic, or involving minors in any sexual context.
• Designed to humiliate, coerce, or psychologically harm participants.
• Fraudulent or intentionally misleading (including fake proof photos).
• Infringing on any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights.
• Containing personal information of others without their explicit consent.

We reserve the right to remove content, end active challenges, and permanently suspend accounts that violate these rules. If we do, we will tell you why, unless the law prohibits it or it would put others at risk. If you disagree with a decision, write to hey@startdoin.com and we will review it.

6a. Challenge creator responsibility

If you create a challenge, you are solely responsible for ensuring it is safe, legal, and appropriate for the participants you invite. By creating a challenge you confirm:

• The challenge activity does not require specialist training, equipment, or medical clearance that participants may not have.
• You have considered the physical and psychological safety of all potential participants, including those you do not know personally.
• You are not creating the challenge on behalf of a third party without that party's knowledge and authorisation.

DOIN' does not review challenges before they are created or before participants join. We are a platform, not a promoter of individual challenges. The creator bears full responsibility for the design and consequences of any challenge they publish.

6b. Reporting, blocking and moderation

DOIN' has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Every proof photo has a "⋯" menu where you can report the photo or block the person who posted it. Blocking hides that person's photos from you in every challenge; they are not told. We review reports and act within 24 hours, which can include removing the content and suspending or permanently removing the account responsible.

7. Cost

The app is currently free of charge.

8. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time via the "Profile" settings in the mobile or web app. When you delete your account, any active challenges you have created will be cancelled. Completed challenges remain visible to other participants. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, in accordance with section 6.

10. Limitation of liability

DOIN' is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

User-generated challenges: DOIN' is not responsible for the content, design, or safety of challenges created by users. We do not endorse, verify, or supervise any challenge activity. Participation in any challenge is entirely at your own risk. If a challenge involves physical activity, you are responsible for assessing your own fitness, health, and ability to participate safely. DOIN' accepts no liability for injury, illness, psychological harm, or any other consequence arising from participation in a user-created challenge.

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia. This does not affect the mandatory consumer rights that the law of your country of residence gives you. If you are not a consumer, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Riga, Latvia.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. We will announce material changes in the app and on startdoin.com, and you will be asked to accept the new version to keep using the app. If you do not agree, you can sign out or delete your account.

12a. Language

These terms are published in Latvian and English. If the two versions differ, the Latvian version prevails.
